The U.S. WNT Fan Tribute Tour got kicked off today in grand fashion at Sahlen's Stadium in Rochester, N.Y., as the WNT and hometown hero Abby Wambach were greeted by a pumped up crowd of about 2,500 supporters during today's public training session prior to tomorrow's match against Costa Rica.

Today's 90-minute session under the sun in Rochester was the first time touching the ball for many of the WNT players since the team won its third straight gold medal, and fourth overall, on Aug. 9 in a 2-1 win against Japan in front of more than 80,000 fans at Wembley Stadium in London.

The WNT Blog spoke to a number of fans today and even met a pair of super fans who took a Greyhound bus all the way up from New Jersey for seven hours to be at training. Oh yea, and they don't even have tickets to the game! Now that's some dedication.

After the session was complete, the WNT took time out to talk with fans and sign autographs. If today's atmosphere is any indication of what it will be like tomorrow, then we can expect the crowd to be beyond pumped up for the game and that's certainly something the team will use to its benefit against Costa Rica.
