This U.S. U-20 WNT held its last training together today and now only a good night's sleep and a few meals remain before the FIFA U-20 Women's World Cup Final against Germany at Tokyo National Stadium.

It's has been quite a journey for this young U.S. team, one they have enjoyed tremendously and one which has seen them grow as people and players across the entire cycle leading into this tournament.

Coverage of the U-20 Women's World Cup Final begins on ESPNU and ESPN3 at 6:10 a.m. ET on Sept. 8 with a kickoff set for 6:20 a.m.

Adrian Healey and former U.S. captain Julie Foudy and will be calling the action for ESPN.

U.S. head coach Steve Swanson held his pre-match press conference at National Stadium today and here are a few selected quotes:
On facing Germany in the World Cup Final:“This is a great opportunity for our team. It’s rare that you get another chance at a team you played in group play and we’re excited about playing Germany again. We know it’s going to be a very competitive game. They obviously have quality throughout their whole team and we are looking forward to it.”
On how losing the group game to Germany positively impacted his team:“In any sport you want to learn lessons from the successes, so if you win and still learn lessons that’s would be the best scenario, but sometimes those lessons don’t permeate as deeply as you would want and sometimes when you lose, lessons seem to sink in more. In all of these games, not just the Germany game, we learned something and in that particular game because we lost and we lost the way we did, I think that hit home with our players and resonated more than any other game. Hopefully that had a positive effect, and our players rebounded quite well from that loss. I think there are a lot of good things that came from that experience and it showed in the quarterfinal and semifinal.”
On the support shown for his young players from the full U.S. Women's National Team:“The way the youth national teams are set-up and the infrastructure of our youth national teams allows for a lot of integration up and down. A lot of the players on the full national team have been a part of U-20 World Cups and they understand how important it’s been to their development and I think they feel a strong connection to all the youth national teams. There has been some communication, very positive and very encouraging, between our full national team and our team and I think that can go a long way for our players.”
