Our Deepest Sympathies for Ghazarian’s Family

The impact of coronavirus has directly impacted our communities and now is the time to see how we can help each other.

Jeffrey Ghazarian died the morning of March 19, losing his battle with pneumonia, reportedly caused by COVID-19. While there have been over 10,000 COVID-19 related deaths worldwide to date, Ghazarian was in his mid-thirties and too young to be considered at higher risk for severe illness from COVID-19.

PRO Soccer USA reported that Ghazarian was a Los Angeles FC season ticket-holder and died from pneumonia after contracting the coronavirus during a trip to Florida.

“We are deeply saddened by the loss of LAFC Member Jeff Ghazarian,” LAFC said in a post with a photo of him at a fan event. “Our thoughts are with his family and all those affected during this difficult time.”

Our sympathies are with Ghazarian’s family and friends, and the entire community.

COVID-19 Does Not Care About Age:

According to the New York Times, Younger Adults Make Up Big Portion of Coronavirus Hospitalizations in U.S.

New CDC data shows that nearly 40 percent of patients sick enough to be hospitalized were age 20 to 54.

While the risk of dying is significantly higher in older people, the new data shows that younger people are seriously impacted by Coronavirus COVID-19 as well.

CDC’s report, issued March 18 stated that of the 508 patients known to have been hospitalized in the USA, 38 percent were between the ages of 20 and 54. Almost as shocking is the fact that “nearly half of the 121 patients who were admitted to intensive care units were adults under 65 years old.”
