[/FONT]The U.S. U-20 WNT did not train today (although they did do some shopping and regen in the afternoon), but they did have the standard FIFA Arrival Meetings in which they are officially welcomed to the Women's World Cup and listened to presentations on various organizational issues, including medical and referees.

The players got their passports checked to make sure they "are who they say they are," and that they are in fact age-eligible for the tournament (everyone passed). They all got their photos taken for their credentials (someone definitely brought the hair straightener to Japan) and then were sent on their merry way to enjoy the day.

The USA opens its tournament on Aug. 20 (there are four matches on Aug. 19, including Japan vs. Mexico to open the World Cup) against Ghana in a match that will be broadcast live on ESPNU and ESPN3 with coverage starting at 2:50 a.m. ET. Fans can also follow along on ussoccer.com's MatchTracker and on Twitter @ussoccer_ynt.

Cari Roccaro gets her passport checked. And it's confirmed: She's from Long Island.

A handful of U.S. players have quite a bit of experience at FIFA events. Five players on this year's roster were a part of the U.S. team that played in the 2010 FIFA U-20 Women's World Cup and four -- D Crystal Dunn, M Samantha Mewis, M Morgan Brian and M Mandy Laddish -- were a part of the U.S. team that played in the 2008 FIFA U-17 Women's World Cup in New Zealand.
