- Bosnia-Herzegovina are tops in Group G of UEFA Qualifying for the 2014 FIFA World Cup with 16 points from six games, three ahead of Greece. The 5-1-1 record includes 23 goals scored and only three surrendered.
- The Zmajevi (Dragons) have never qualified for the World Cup, having reached the qualifying playoffs in each of the last two cycles and losing out to Portugal in both.
- The squad is led by an aggressive attacking force with Manchester City striker Edin Dzeko at the helm, who is the top scorer in European qualifying with eight goals. Dzeko is the country’s all-time leading scorer with 27 goals. His strike partner is Vedad Ibisevic, formerly of Hoffenheim and now plying his trade with Stuttgart, who is the second leading scorer in the campaign alongside Tomer Hemed of Israel.
- Roma midfielder - and teammate of Michael Bradley - Miralem Pjanic is joined by Stoke City goalkeeper Asmir Begovic, and Hoffenheim teammate of Fabian Johnson midfielder Sejad Salihovic.
- Team captain and Bayern Leverkusen defender Emir Spahić is the second all-time leading capwinner with 65 appearances.
- Bosnia head coach Safet "Pape" Susic is a former international who took over in 2009. In 2012, he was voted the best foreign player of all time in the French League by France Football.
