"He Smacks These Things"

With BBVA Compass Stadium hosting a U.S. Men's National Team match for the first time, much of the media interest this camp has focused on the Dynamo trio of Will Bruin, Brad Davis and Tally Hall. Jurgen Klinsmann has had high praise for the Houston group, including this bit on Bruin, who had two goals in the closed-door scrimmage Tuesday.

"Will is a team player, is focused 24/7 and he’s a great finisher. We’re trying now to give him another level, a more fast-paced rhythm than what he’s used to – which is normal for a new player in a National Team environment – and he adjusted to it right away. So far he’s done really well.”

While Bruin and goalkeeper Tally Hall are in their first National Team camp, Brad Davis has a different story to tell. He five career caps have been spread across a five-year span that began in the 2005 Gold Cup and reached the January camp of 2010.

Davis, if you'll recall, scored the championship-winning penalty in the 2005 Gold Cup Final. Then coach Bruce Arena watched from a suite after having been dismissed in the semifinal.
