Jermaine Jones had career highs in 2012 for minutes and games played
Tim Howard led all U.S. players in minutes played for the National Team in 2012, clocking 1,060 minutes in 12 matches. The USA’s undisputed No. 1 posted a 7-2-3 record with four shutouts, including clean sheets in the historic victories against Italy and Mexico.

For field players, Jermaine Jones logged a career-high in both minutes (1,002) and matches played (12). He started the year wearing the captain’s armband against Venezuela in January, scored against Scotland and also got his first taste of World Cup qualifying.

Third place in minutes played went to Geoff Cameron, who parlayed the January camp into an eventual starting role in the center of the U.S. defense. He recorded 812 minutes in 10 starts, and along the way transferred from Houston to Stoke City in the Premier League.
