AMERICA SCORES IS HOLDING A NEW FREE SOCCER COACHES SUMMIT JUNE 3-4, 2020.

Learn directly from world-class soccer coaches, clinicians, and trainers. LIVE conversations, presentations, and Q & A sessions — on Zoom.

“The Soccer Coaches Summit was born out of COVID and the desire to help coaches during a period of isolation,” says Colin Schmidt, Chief Executive Officer of America SCORES Bay Area. “Now we have another wave of hardship and unparalleled social unrest.”

“What is the role — the responsibility — of the coach during this time?”

Colin Schmidt, Chief Executive Officer of America SCORES Bay Area

“We can not underestimate the role of the coach in helping their players navigate hardship whether it be social isolation or social injustice,” said Schmidt. “Excellent coaches help develop people, not just players. The best coaches create a culture of trust, inclusion, and authentic communications.”

The collective brainchild of board chair Jon Denholtz, Schmidt, and the America Scores Bay Area team, the Soccer Coaches Summit is back for a new two-day session in June.

Coaching legend Bruce Arena headlines June’s America SCORES Soccer Coaches Summit.

The upcoming Soccer Coaches Summit is a two-day event that starts Wednesday, June 3 at 9 AM PST and features phenomenal presentations and discussions from an all-star roster of master coaches. The theme of the June Summit is a holistic approach to player development focusing on the men’s game and school-based soccer programs. The holistic method centers on enabling the player to fulfill their potential, not only as a player on the field but also as an individual off the pitch.

More than timely, this new session of the Coaches Summit will provide everyone in soccer the ability to connect and discuss the racial tension and protests that have exploded in cities all across America since George Floyd’s death.

“Soccer done right can be a vehicle to help move this country forward, to create bridges and pathways in a reality that is full of walls and divisions.”

Colin Schmidt, Chief Executive Officer of America SCORES Bay Area

A non-profit organization that promotes soccer and poetry to kids all across the country, America SCORES, created the Soccer Coaches Summit, the most successful mega-series connecting coaches all across America and answering the question “How can we advance the game during the Coronavirus COVID-19 lockdown?”

Launched in April, the Soccer Coaches Summit series attracted approximately 10,000 participants from 110 countries. The series provided 150 speakers in more than 125 sessions — all for free. Now, the Soccer Coaches Summit is back for a two-day session headlined by Bruce Arena.

While contributions to the non-profit organizations are welcome, they are not required to register or participate in the Zoom sessions. Donors receive as a thank you lifetime access to the archived Soccer Coaches Summit sessions. Kicked off 25 years ago, America SCORES has impacted over 130,000 kids across North America. America Scores provides soccer and poetry enrichment afterschool programs to “poet-athletes” and teaches the value of teamwork and community.

“At the highest levels in the country, these coaches are talking the same language as America SCORES. They connect soccer to education and holistic development; they embrace a ‘person first’ methodology into their culture and training sessions,” said Schmidt.

On Wednesday, June 3 at 11 AM PST, coaching legend Bruce Arena will offer his insight on the past, present, and future of soccer in America.

Centered on the unique and important role that high school and college can play in advancing American soccer, Sasho Cirvowski from the University of Maryland will make the case for why college soccer can be the best U23 player development platform in the world.
