Cosmopolitan Junior Soccer League Donates Through NY Loves Coffee

New York Soccer News: 20,000 New Yorkers have died of the coronavirus

The Cosmopolitan Junior Soccer League (CJSL), founded in 1933 and the oldest league in the Eastern New York Youth Soccer Association (ENYYSA) and American youth soccer, recently made a $1,000 donation to NY Loves Coffee.

“The CJSL, on behalf of its member clubs, donated 400 cups of iced coffee and iced tea plus 100 doughnuts to Elmhurst Hospital through NY Loves Coffee, an initiative for individuals and corporations to contribute coffee to be delivered for free to New York City Hospitals,” explained CJSL First Vice President Paul Kontonis. “A free cup of coffee is a token of appreciation and thanks for everything our New York City healthcare workers are doing.”

A video of the delivery is linked here: https://www.facebook.com/watch/?v=231093544621951

NY Loves Coffee partnered with specialty coffee shops in New York to deliver fresh coffee to hospitals across the city. The coffee purchases keep these small businesses percolating throughout the crisis and sends much needed support and thanks to those on the frontlines as they care for sick New York City residents.

New York has by far the most coronavirus-related fatalities of any state with approximately 20,000 New Yorkers dying from it this year, with New York City accounting for over 60% of those deaths.

Members are affiliated with nine leagues throughout the association, which covers the entire state of New York east of Route 81. ENYYSA exists to promote and enhance the game of soccer for children and teenagers between the ages of 5 and 19 years old and to encourage the healthy development of youth players, coaches, referees, and administrators.
