The U.S. WNT had some special guests today at training as the three U.S. Men's National Team players who play (well, played) for the Glasgow Rangers were nice enough to stop by to watch some practice and wish their WNT counterparts all the best in their Olympics.

U.S. captain Carlos Bocanegra and midfielders Maurice Edu and Alejandro Bedoya took in a bit of training and then had some time to chat with players afterwards, which meant that the two American captains - MNT and WNT -- could take a picture together for the first time in recent memory.

Captains America

Little known U.S. Soccer trivia is that Bedoya played two seasons for Orebro in the Swedish top flight, the same club that Pia Sundhage coached in the mid-2000s, and the two were able to share some Sweden stories. Bedoya even tried out some Swedish with Sundhage.

Mo Edu chats with Carli Lloyd and Pia...
which reminds us of a classic quote from Edu at the 2010 FIFA World Cup in South Africa after his apparent winning goal against Slovenia was inexplicably waved off (and we are paraphrasing):
"It was the best moment of my life. For five seconds."
