Manning the middle tonight is Costa Rican referee Walter Quesada. He is quite familiar to the U.S., having officiated several significant matches. Coincidentally, he was the ref when the USA lost 2-1 to Honduras in San Pedro Sula in February in the first game of the Hexagonal. He also ran the center in the USA's historic 1-0 win against Mexico on Aug. 15, 2012, in Mexico City, the USA's first victory against Mexico on its own soil. Finally, he was the referee in the first game DaMarcus Beasley served as captain of the National Team prior to this summer, a 2-1 loss to T&T in 2008.
