The pre-game show on NBC will begin at 11:30 a.m. MT

Pre-Game Notes
  • The U.S. extended its unbeaten streak to 25 games against Canada following its 4-0 victory on Jan. 29 in the title game of the 2012 CONCACAF Olympic Qualifying tournament in Vancouver. Alex Morgan had two goals and assisted Abby Wambach’s two goals. Wambach moved to No. 2 on the U.S. and world all-time scoring list with 130th and 131st career goals to move past former U.S. WNT teammate Kristine Lilly (130 goals)
  • The USA is 42-3-5 overall against its neighbor to the north.
  • Canada’s last victory against the USA was a 3-0 win on March 11, 2001, in Lagos, Portugal.
  • Alex Morgan leads the U.S. WNT with 17 goals in 14 games and she has six multi-goal games this year. Following her two-goal effort en route to a 4-1 win against Japan on June 18, Morgan moved into a tie for 11th place on the all-time U.S. WNT list for goals scored in a calendar year with Shannon MacMillan (2002) and Abby Wambach (2006).
  • Following the Canada match, the U.S. will have a nine-day break before heading to the U.K. for its pre-Olympic training camp. The Americans open their Olympic Games on July 25 – two days before the official Opening Ceremonies – with a huge clash against France at Hampden Park in Glasgow, Scotland.

In-Game Notes

  • We're underway at Rio Tinto Stadium. USA and Canada are still scoreless in the 13th minute.
  • The USA gets on the board first off an own goal by Canada's Carmelina Moscato. USA - 1 CAN - 0 in the 15th minute
  • That's the second own goal the U.S. has earned this year. The other was scored against China on May 27th in Chester, Pennsylvania.
  • Pia Sundhage made four halftime subs: Mitts for LePeilbet, O'Reilly for Heath, Lloyd for Boxx, and Sauerbrunn for Rampone. Fresh legs will be helpful in this heat! It was almost 90 degrees here at Rio Tinto Stadium at kickoff.
  • Amy Rodriguez came in for Aled Morgan in the 51st minute. Still 1-0 here in Salt Lake!
  • Canada ties it up in the 57th minute with a goal by Melissa Tancredi. Team captain Christine Sinclair had the assist. USA - 1 CAN - 1
