The U.S. Women’s National Team is once again the top team in the latest FIFA Women’s World Rankings, marking exactly five years that the USA has held the #1 ranking.
The USA lead the way ahead of Germany, Japan, Brazil, France and Sweden. The only movement in the top ten saw England move up one place to tie with Canada in seventh following England’s 1-0 victory against Canada in the championship game of the Cyprus Cup.
The USA widened its lead over Germany with a 2-0 victory in the Algarve Cup Final in Portugal and is on an unbeaten run of 29 matches since a 1-0 group-stage defeat to Japan in the 2012 Algarve Cup.
The next FIFA Women’s World Ranking will be published on June 21, 2013.
