Youth Soccer Clubs Must Follow Local Guidelines As Of May 18
In this extremely challenging environment, it is critical that our return to pre-pandemic life happens safely to prevent the continued spread of the insidious Coronavirus COVID-19. There is hope now — filtered rays of sunlight — that kids can return to play soccer. Now, US Club has made the announcement that state and local return to play protocols are to be followed.
US Club has announced new guidelines to take effect beginning May 18.
In a letter to the US Club membership on May 14, Kevin Payne CEO/Executive Director of US Club outlined the next steps regarding Coronavirus COVID-19 pandemic.
The big news was the removal of US CLub’s nationwide suspension from soccer activities. Youth soccer clubs will base their return-to-play decisions on local and state guidelines, effective May 18.
While US Club has lifted its national suspension of soccer activities, members must abide by the requirements/guidelines established by their state and local public health authorities. And, Payne stressed that US Club insurance is only in effect if a club’s activities are consistent with state and local guidelines for the resumption of play.

These past two months have been like nothing any of us has ever experienced before.
The novel coronavirus pandemic has caused disruption of every aspect of our daily lives, including the organized soccer activities we all enjoy so much.
Throughout this unprecedented and confusing time, we have guided our decision-making by the fundamental principle that the well-being of all of our players, staff, parents, and loved ones is always our first priority. We thank you for your patience, understanding, and cooperation.
Removal of National Suspension of Activities on May 18:
We recognize that different parts of our country have been affected to a different degree by the impact of COVID-19.
Therefore, we are lifting our national suspension of activities and delegating return-to-play decision making to our local members, effective May 18.
