USA and Canada Rosters Set for June 2 Clash

CANADA ROSTER

Canada has announced its 18-player roster for the Sunday, June 2 match against the USA at BMO Field in Toronto. The squad features 14 players who were part of Canada’s bronze-medal-winning team at the 2012 London Olympics.

Fourteen of the 18 players are playing for NWSL clubs, two players are headed to an U.S. college in the fall and forward Christian Julien currently plays for WFC Rossiyanka in Russia where she recently featured in the knockout stages of 2013 UEFA Women’s Champions League.

Striker Melissa Tancredi rejoins the group for the first time since the Olympics.

Chicago Red Stars defender Rachel Quon, who played for the USA in two FIFA youth World Cups, gets her first call-up to the Canadian team.

USA ROSTER

U.S. Women’s National Team head coach Tom Sermanni has named a 21-player roster that will travel to Canada in preparation for match, which will kick off at 4:30 p.m. ET and will be broadcast live on ESPNews. Fans can also follow live online via ussoccer.com’s MatchTracker and Twitter @ussoccer_wnt.

Sermanni named 15 players currently competing for clubs in the National Women’s Soccer League, four players who are playing in Europe and two rising college seniors. Sermanni will name 18 players from the training camp roster to suit up against Canada at BMO Field, which is sold out for the first meeting between these two countries since the epic semifinal match at the 2012 Olympics.
