Mexico picked up its first win of the final round of 2014 FIFA World Cup Qualifying with a 1-0 against Jamaica last night in Kingston. With an extra game played, the win puts Mexico on top of the Hexagonal with six points from four games. Jamaica remains in last place with just two points, and will desperately need a win as it hosts the U.S. on Friday night.
Goalkeeper Donovan Ricketts did all he could to keep the Mexico attack at bay, but Aldo de Nigris beat him with a header in the opening minutes of the second half that proved to be the game winner. With only one point from two home games, The Reggae Boyz are certain to push for a victory as wins at home are absolutely vital to qualifying for the World Cup.
