The U.S. WNT had its official "walk-through" today at Hampden Park, site of the USA's first two matches of the 2012 Olympics. No teams are getting to train on the game pitch as it has been raining quite a bit, but the field is in STELLAR condition, and there are eight teams -- four women's and four men's -- in Glasgow now to play their opening matches.
Instead, the teams get to see the locker rooms, walk on the pitch and get a feel for the famed venue, which is most notable for hosting the Scottish Cup Finals as well as three Champions League Finals, two Cup Winners' Cup Finals an a UEFA Cup Final.
It was raining quite a bit during the USA's walk-through, but that didn't stop the players from checking out the field (in running shoes of course...no cleats allowed!) and taking a bunch of pics.
Back in the olden days, Hampden Park packed 149,415 fans into the stadium for a Scotland-England match in 1937, still a record for an European international football match. Of course, today's all-seater stadium holds much less, about 52,000.
