Three players on the current U.S. roster have scored against Mexico, two of them in magnificent wins in World Cup qualifying.
DaMarcus Beasley converted a clever free kick play and curled a shot past Oswaldo Sanchez to deliver the U.S. the second of its three consecutive 2-0 wins at home in World Cup qualifying. Steve Ralston had the opening goal on Sept. 3, 2005, and the U.S. clinched a spot in the 2006 FIFA World Cup on MatchDay 7 in the Hexagonal, the earliest ever for the United States since this format was adopted.
A young Jozy Altidore notched his first ever goal for the MNT when headed home the USA's second in what ended a 2-2 draw on Feb. 6, 2008 in Houston. Later that year, he became the youngest U.S. player in the modern era to record a hat trick when he dropped in all of the USA's goals in the 3-0 win against Trinidad & Tobago in a World Cup qualifier in Nashville.
Last but certainly not least, Michael Bradley took matters into his own hands by netting both of the USA's goals in the 2-0 win on Feb. 11, 2009. Scoring near the end of each half, the United States open the Final Round of qualifying for the 2010 FIFA World Cup with another "dos a cero" in Columbus.
