[FONT=georgia, palatino]The U.S. WNT has touched down in southern Portugal for the 20th edition of the Algarve Cup, of which the USA has attended 18. The Americans have won the tournament eight times, more than any other country, but have failed to take home the title nine times, which goes to show how difficult the Algarve Cup can be. This is tournament where a team must win its group to make the title game and the USA finds Iceland, China PR and Sweden in its way to the championship game this year.

Last year, the USA fell to Japan 1-0 in group play and was forced to the third-place match where an Alex Morgan trick - the first ever BHHT (figure it out) -- paced the Americans to a 4-0 victory.

That set-back to Japan was the only loss for the USA in 2012. Consider that the Americans have lost just 57 games in its history, and 10 have come at the Algarve Cup, that's 17% of the USA's all-time losses that have come in Portual.

However, the USA has remarkable lost just one game in regulation here at the Algarve Cup since 2005 and heads into the tournament as one of the favorites, even though five teams -- Germany, Norway, Denmark, Sweden and Iceland are gearing up for this summer's European Women's Championships.

Quite a few U.S. players have earned their first caps at the Algarve Cup, but only one uncapped player made the roster this year, that being goalkeeper Ashlyn Harris.

Here is the USA's 23-player roster for the 2013 Algarve Cup:
