USYF Coaching Education Program Releases Level 2
Futsal is one of the most beloved and valuable ways to improve a youth soccer player’s skills … different from soccer, this small sided 5v5 game required coaching education to truly benefit America’s youth soccer players, and now it a higher level course is available.
United States Youth Futsal (USYF) is the national youth futsal organization that has helped spearhead the growth of the sport in the USA. Recently, USYF released their new USYF Futsal Coaching Education Level 2 course for coaches.
Designed by former United States Men’s National Futsal Team Head Coach and USYF Technical Director Keith Tozer, this idea of these futsal coaching educational courses was conceived over two years ago. With a lot of time and energy, along with the input of many of USYF National Coaching Staff members, there is now a second level course that builds on the primary, initial course introduced previously.
Tozer is known around the world as Mr. Futsal (or should be). With the extremely popular World of Futsal podcast, Tozer reaches out to the most influential people in the futsal game and offers insightful interviews to listeners.

Tozer is also a FIFA and CONCACAF Futsal Instructor, the Ccomissioner of the Professional Futsal League (PFL) and has been honored around the world for his accomplishments as a coach and leader on and off the court, arena and field. Always dedicated to helping young soccer players reach their potential, Tozer is a tireless and inspiring coach who travels around the country training both players and colleagues.
Tozer believes it is critical for coaches to have the proper training to be able to help youth soccer players benefit from futsal training.

Jon Parry, USYF President said, “USYF first provided coaching education opportunities in 2013 and we believe our newest modules represent the most comprehensive futsal education platform in the United States”.
The newly launched Level 2 course has received high acclaim from around the world including former FIFA World Futsal Champions as well as the Argentina Futsal Men’s National Team Head Coach, and the Canadian National Team Futsal Head Coach — and the course was only released last month.
“We see coaching education as a fundamental component to effectively growing the game in the United States and our goal was simple, to create an education platform that could engage the grassroots coach with introductory concepts while also providing best practices that would benefit even the most seasoned futsal coach from around the world,” said USYF Executive Director Brian Catrine.
The US Youth Futsal Coaching Education Courses are open to everyone around the world who inspires to learn more about the game of Futsal. Level 1 and Level 2 Courses are online modules offering an introduction to futsal with key resources to help coaches build a foundational knowledge of the game.

USYS’ Level 3 State Course is an in-person program which takes the coach from the online environment to the actual courts. In the future, additional levels are also planned including a Level 4 National Course and a weeklong Level 5 International Course.

Upon completion of the Level 1 online course, each participant receives one year of access to all of Coach Tozer’s training videos and session plans used in the Level 1 module. The Level 2 Course builds on the foundation established in the Level 1 module.
With a deeper dive into the Offensive and Defensive systems, principles, and phases of play, Tozer shares specific futsal methodologies that he used with his US Futsal Men’s National Team while winning 2 CONCACAF Championships.
Otto Orf
The Level 2 Course also features Coach Otto Orf, current US Futsal Men’s National Team Assistant and Goalkeeper coach. With 21 years of professional futsal goalkeeper and coaching experience, Orf’s Heart and Sole Futsal Academy is one of the most well recognized futsal programs in the country. Orf shares several best-practices and training activities for developing youth futsal goalkeepers in the Level 2 course.
This USYF course also includes several animated Kwiktactix templates and videos demonstrating the key concepts.
