CA Based Sports Uniform Company Wants to Help Slow the Spread of COVID-19

In this uncertain time, it is great to see a familiar and trusted name jump into making Coronavirous COVID-19 protective face masks. SCORE, a company that manufactures uniforms and sports gear for soccer, baseball, and basketball is now making face masks available.

We are living in the middle of a global pandemic, all longing for the pre-pandemic days to return. As we adjust to our new normal, and look forward to guidelines being relaxed to allow us to be outside more, we now know that the CDC (Center for Disease Control) recommends that everyone should wear face coverings in public.

An ever-increasing number of cities, counties, and states in America are recommending, even requiring citizens to wear a face mask or face covering. In some areas, not wearing one is a Class C misdemeanor, punishable by a fine up to $1,000. So before you go inside a building open to the public or hop on public transportation, grab that face mask! And, according to NBC, there have been arrests in New Jersey when shopping without a mask.

But why have a boring mask? Brighten your day and show your passion for soccer with a mask made from one of America’s favorite uniform makers — SCORE now has Reusable Face Mask available made from the same bright and wonderfully fun colors of soccer uniforms.

The woman-owned company based in Southern California has been innovative since its start in 1975. A Registered Provider for the City of Los Angeles. SCORE has also released Reusable Non-Medical Face Mask for essential workers.

“We wanted to do our part. I hope with everyone coming together and doing their part, we will return to the fields soon and see our soccer families.”

Rosa Cursage – Score CEO

“We are a neighborhood brand and have always been focused on improving and contributing to our communities nationwide,” said Nancy Torres, COO of SCORE.

Why wear a face mask? To slow the spread of the Coronavirus COVID-19.

Who ever knew spit droplets could travel through the air when we talk?

Experts have acknowledged that even people who have no symptoms and are considered asymptomatic can be contagious and transmit the virus to others. “This means that the virus can spread between people interacting in close proximity—for example, speaking, coughing, or sneezing—even if those people are not exhibiting symptoms,” states the CDC.

Wearing a mask helps keep respiratory secretions within the mask, or in simpler terms — it helps keep your possible germs to yourself. Now, the CDC is advising the use of simple cloth face coverings to slow the spread of the virus and help people who may have the virus and do not know it from transmitting it to others.

According to the CDC, cloth face coverings should:

  • Fit snugly but comfortably against the side of the face
  • Be secured with ties or ear loops
  • Include multiple layers of fabric
  • Allow for breathing without restriction
  • Be able to be laundered and machine dried without damage or change to the shape

SCORE’s affordable masks are 100% polyester, knitted to a soft and comfortable fit and the fabric has advanced moisture-wicking properties.

According to the WHO (World Health Organization), it is important to remember these guidelines:

  • Before putting on a mask, clean hands with alcohol-based hand rub or soap and water.
  • Cover mouth and nose with mask and make sure there are no gaps between your face and the mask.
  • Avoid touching the mask while using it; if you do, clean your hands with alcohol-based hand rub or soap and water.
  • Replace the mask with a new one as soon as it is damp and do not re-use single-use masks.
  • To remove the mask: remove it from behind (do not touch the front of mask); discard immediately in a closed bin; clean hands with alcohol-based hand rub or soap and water.

How, when so many professional, amateur, and youth soccer clubs and organizations are worried about getting their uniform orders fulfilled is SCORE able to do this?

“We wanted to help so we shifted and began producing face masks.”

Rosa Cursage, CEO of SCORE

Reusable Face Masks

“We confirmed our 2020 forecasted production for uniforms was completed and quickly shifted our operations and transitioned our production to manufacturing face masks,” said Rosa Cursage, CEO of SCORE.

“Our vertically integrated business model facilitated the development and transitioning our production to manufacture masks. We are extremely proud and excited to be able to do our part and contribute to one of the most important causes our communities have faced,” said Torres who also confirmed that SCORE will be ready to support and fulfill customer orders when everyone returns to play.
