The Dallas Cup, the oldest and one of the most prestigious youth soccer tournament in America is famous for attracting some of the best mens and boys teams. In fact, this international youth soccer tournament draws more than 100,000 spectators during tournament week. First kicking the ball in 1980, Dallas Cup has hosted teams and referees from across 47 states, six continents and more than 100 countries.

Now the Dallas Cup has entered into a multi-year agreement with Mary Kay Inc., making the iconic North Texas-based company an official partner of the Dallas Cup.

Mary Kay will be the presenting sponsor of the newly created Dallas Cup girls bracket – the Dallas Cup Girls Invitational.

With the partnership, Mary Kay becomes the Pioneer Sponsor of the Dallas Cup girls initiative, which makes its long-awaited return to the tournament in 2021.

DALLAS CUP TEAMS UP WITH MARY KAY TO PIONEER GIRLS INVITATIONAL

The 2020 Dallas Cup was canceled last year because of the Coronavirus COVID-19 and this partnership brings new excitement to the tournament for 2021. 2020 was first time in the Dallas Cup’s 40 year history that the tournament was not played.

“Since 1963 when our company was founded, Mary Kay has blazed a trail opening doors for millions of women around the world. We are delighted to support the Dallas Cup Girls Invitational as Pioneer Sponsor and know that the tournament will inspire and empower girls and young women by providing them the opportunity to build their confidence and leadership skills as they compete,” said Sheryl Adkins-Green, Mary Kay Chief Marketing Officer.

Dallas Cup formerly included girls brackets from 1987 to 1996 before shifting to solely boys. The 2021 Dallas Cup Girls Invitational presented by Mary Kay will feature elite girls teams from across the nation in the 16U-19U age groups and will run concurrently with the boys bracket.

“We are thrilled to partner with Mary Kay for such an important initiative,” said Dallas Cup Executive Director Andy Swift.

“For nearly six decades, Mary Kay has been committed to empowering women and their families, and as such, is the perfect Pioneer Partner for the return of the girls bracket to the Dallas Cup,” said Swift. “Our goal is to develop the Dallas Cup Girls Invitational into one of the premier girls youth soccer tournaments in the world, and we look forward in joining forces with Mary Kay to ensure this new showcase opportunity for elite athletes in youth soccer continues to annually grow and improve.”

As presenting sponsor of the Dallas Cup Girls Invitational, Mary Kay’s logo will be on the girl’s championship trophies, as well as on various displays throughout the tournament venues and on Dallas Cup promotional and marketing material.

The 2021 Dallas Cup will run from March 27 through April 4. Due to the novel COVID-19 virus pandemic, the 2020 Dallas Cup was cancelled this past April for the first time in the tournament’s 40-year history. With ever-evolving safety protocols in place employing guidance from various health authorities and youth soccer governing bodies, Dallas Cup is once again ready to feature hundreds of elite teams vying for the prestigious “Boot and Ball” championship trophies in 2021.

For a company that considers itself one of the original glass ceiling breakers, this is a natural step for Mary Kay. The company was founded by Mary Kay Ash nearly 60 years ago with three goals: develop rewarding opportunities for women, offer irresistible products, and make the world a better place. Now it can impact the glorious game and help girls reach their potential, on and off the pitch.
