It wasn't the smoothest game the U.S. WNT has played, but the first match of 2013 was rousing start to the year and featured many positives. Here are a few:
Four great goals, including an ABSOLUTE cracker from Shannon Boxx.
Two goals and an assist in her very first cap from Christen Press. Nice start, huh?
A first win for Tom Sermanni.
A crowd of 18,656. Well done North Florida!
The return of Ali Krieger. She made it!
First caps for two of the USA's top young players, Kristie Mewis and Julie Johnston, both former U.S. Soccer Players of the Year.
Jill Loyden and Nicole Barnhart getting some solid minutes in goal.
A cross from Tobin Heath (for Press' second goal) that is as good as it gets.
Yet another goal from Sydney Leroux. #SuperSub
