Guzan Gets Huge Result; Cherundolo Returns

Big day for Brad Guzan and Aston Villa this past Saturday, the club snatching three points and helping their cause for avoiding relegation with a 3-1 win at Stoke City. With six games remaining - four of which at home - the young Villans are gaining momentum and confidence in their effort to stay in the Premier League.

In Germany, great news for MNT fans as three-time World Cup veteran Steve Cherundolo returned to action for the first time in 2013 in Hannover's scoreless draw with Stuttgart. Having been sidelined with a knee injury, the Hannover captain has missed all of the USA's qualifiers in the final round thus far. A couple other notes to notice:

  • Clint Dempsey and Tim Howard were part of the 2-2 duel with Spurs and Everton. The Toffees will be pleased to have taken at point at White Hart Lane, keeping them in sixth place and within striking distance of a spot in the Europa League next year.
  • Terrence Boyd scored his 12th league goal of the campaign and 16th overall as Rapid Vienna drew 1-1 at Wacker Innsbruck (video - goal at 2:55)
