San Jose Earthquakes Is The First Club to Arrive for MLS is Back Tournament
MLS clubs begin to arrive in Orlando, Florida this week to prepare to compete in the long-awaited MLS is Back Tournament, the first MLS competition since the suspension of games on March 12 because of the Coronavirus COVID-19 pandemic.
Yes, everyone is super excited. MLS is slated to be back playing on July 8 with the MLS is Back Tournament. Teams arriving in Florida marks the official restart of MLS pro soccer in America next month.
June 24 was the first date teams could arrive to begin prep for the landmark tournament.
San Josse earthquakes arrive in Orlando Florida for the MLS is BACK tournament
Here are pictures of the San Jose Earthquakes traveling and arriving at the hotel at the ESPN Wide World Of Sports Complex in Orlando, Florida.
The San Jose Earthquakes squad was the first to arrive in Orlando in advance of the MLS is Back Tournament. The team began returning to the fields in Northern CA on June 9, and the players had temperature checks and training was limited to individual drills.
SJ Forward MLS all-time leading goal scorer Chris Wondolowski
Under the direction of head coach Matias Almeyda and led by MLS all-time leading goal scorer Chris Wondolowski, the team arrived Wednesday afternoon and underwent mandatory testing.
In the brief 2020 MLS Standings and Leaders, San Jose rank towards the bottom of the West Conference table with no wins, 1 loss, and 1 tie.

Sporting Kansas City has earned the top spot in the West with 2 wins and 6 points, matching Atlanta United with the same top ranking for the East. These rankings can change quickly in the upcoming MLS is Back tournament.
What will happen in the next few weeks will determine the historic 2020 season as professional soccer in America begins to return and recover from the impact of the Coronavirus COVID-19.
