You know when you have the standard pre-tournament meetings with FIFA that the World Cup is almost ready to begin.

The USA's meetings took place on Sept. 19, at which the players heard presentations on officiating (for the first time with example clips all featuring the women's game, from the 2011 FIFA Women's World Cup and the 2012 FIFA U-20 Women's World Cup) and doping control, got their passports checked (they are all American and all Under-17) and got their pictures taken for their official credentials.

For these young players, everything is a new experience and, it seems, everything is fun, which is a great way to go through life, and a World Cup tournament.
